The gourmet version of Monsù tradition at Palazzo Vecchio’s Restaurant

In an elegant setting with a timeless colonial style, Monsù Restaurant at Palazzo Vecchio in Taormina revives the ancient flavors of typical Sicilian cuisine every evening for dinner and Sunday for lunch by translating them into contemporary dishes with a gourmet aesthetic.

Surrounded by a glass window from the vault which penetrates the light of the starry sky that illuminates Taormina every evening, the orangery weaves around guests a refined, intimate, and relaxing atmosphere, protected by exotic plants growing among rattan furnishings, flooding the space with Mediterranean scents and colors. A classy location ideal for enchanting couples' dinners but also suitable for up to 60 people to enrich the celebration of private events with charm.

On the menu, the fresh and brackish liveliness of fish crudités from the Ionian Sea marries with the country flavor of seasonal vegetables, aromatic herbs, or fresh fruit in a proposal that tastes like our land and our sea: it tastes like Sicily. Flavors that find maximum enhancement thanks to the combination of local wines from the rich cellar of Palazzo Vecchio Taormina, recommended by sommelier Francesco Tizzone.

Every morning from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., the triumph of colors of the best local pastries, the smell of freshly squeezed Sicilian oranges, and the freshness of local cheeses and cured meats draw on the tables of Monsù a Mediterranean and International breakfast.

Chef

Giuseppe Privitera

In Monsù's kitchen, the excellence of the territory's raw materials bends meekly to the creative flair and technical skills of Chef Giuseppe Privitera, who delicately and wisely innovates tradition without distorting its flavors, respecting a culinary vocation that places origins at the center of the inventive process.

Peasant and maritime scents and flavors blend in a perfect marriage of refinement and authentic taste, capable of satisfying both refined traditionalists and curious experimenters, local and international.
